Alan M. Levine, MD

AAOS Alan M. Levine, MD Education Fund

Shortly after Alan’s untimely death in 2009, the AAOS Board of Directors established the Alan M. Levine, MD Education Fund to honor his passion for orthopaedic education, his dedication to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the field of orthopaedics. Alan was a powerful influence in our lives as well as on his patients and their families. He made major contributions to orthopaedic education, research and the development of future orthopaedic surgeons as a consummate surgeon, teacher and editor.

Your gift supports resident education
The purpose of this fund is to provide ongoing scholarships for residents to attend the AAOS Course for Orthopaedic Educators, and Orthopaedic Learning Center and other CME courses. To extend Alan’s impact on our specialty, 5% of the fund will be spent annually on resident scholarships to offer opportunities and perspectives not available to residents at their home institutions. By creating these “Levine Scholars,” the Academy will enrich our profession just as Alan did throughout his career.

Please make a contribution in any amount and join your fellow Academy leaders who have already given their support.

All gifts* are appreciated and will help our Academy continue its tradition of improving resident education to improve patient care. Every contribution will be acknowledged by OREF.

Note: To be acknowledged as 2015 contributions, gifts must be received no later than December 31, 2015.
